Optimist International Essay Contest

2011 Topic: "How my Positive Outlook Benefits my Community "

Who: Youth under the age of 18 as of December 31 of the current school year (December 31, 2011) who have not yet graduated from high school or the equivalent.

How To Enter: Interested students must contact Leduc Black-Gold Optimists. They need to submit an essay on the pre-assigned topic. To find out a contact, please e-mail the Programs Department at programs@optimist.org.

Why: Club winners advance to the District contest to compete for a $2,500 college scholarship. Students must contact Opt Wyn McAra with Leduc Black-Gold Optimists.

September Meeting

President Shayne has asked me to advise you that our regular meeting, scheduled for Thursday Sept 8th. As President Shayne and VP Ray will be missing from this meeting, it will be chaired by LG Trevor. If you wish to eat, come at 7PM, but business/program portion will commence aprox 730P. Please bring the School Supples and food that you wish to donate to the Area food bank.

Castrol 50/50

A great big THANK YOU to all members who helped out with the sales and based on a number of successful events, the proceeds to our projects will benefit all of our Leduc Community.

We have one more event, in which we will be the sole sellers and this is the Super Chevy Show, to be held on Fri Sep 02/11 and operated by Team 02 from 6 to 9 pm.

Wedding Bells for Lt Gov Trevor & Optimist Margaretha
