The Black Gold Optimist Club of Leduc hosted the Zone 5 Fourth Quarter Meeting on Saturday September 8, 2012 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 108 Leduc.
Seventeen Optimist members from various clubs attended.
Outgoing Lieutenant Governor (LG) Peggy Dick addressed the group on pertinent matters and introduced the incoming LG (Geoff Connor) who will take over on October 1, 2012. The clubs presented reports on their activities for the past period and some future endeavours.
An enjoyable lunch was provided, followed by the annual Horseshoe Challenge on the public grounds behind the Legion Hall. Glen Kreller from The St. Albert club and Clint Sopchyshyn from the Edmonton Dinner club teamed up to outduel the three other pairs in competition and place first.
Thanks to all who attended.
