Equipped with pointed and gripping poles and suitable clothing / footwear, twelve Optimist Club members removed trash and recyclables from a designated section of Highway #2 south of Leduc starting at 9:00- 9:30am on Saturday June 8th.
Happily, the roadside was fairly clean with only seven full bags of trash and one of recyclables collected; which compares to an often double digit total.
Denise, Connie, Trevor, Bob, Ray attended from the Black Gold Optimist Club of Leduc together with Ruby, Maria, John, Doug, Ron, Terry, Keivin from the Dinner Optimist Club of Edmonton.
Congratulations and Thanks for a job well done to improve the environment.
Appreciation was expressed to the Edmonton Club for providing a lunch following the chore.
